Frank insists Tottenham "very good" against Burnley

da marjack bet: After victory over Borussia Dortmund in midweek, Tottenham travelled to Burnley in good spirits for the first time in what felt like an eternity for Thomas Frank. Those positives quickly turned, however, to spark another afternoon to forget in the Premier League.

From Champions League heroics, the Lilywhites once again dropped points back in domestic action and things would have been a lot worse had Cristian Romero not rescued a late point.

Despite more dropped points though, Frank insisted at full-time that his side were “very good” against Burnley – saying: “He (Dubravka) was that for a reason. That means we did a lot of things right. Offensively, I think we came here, took some of the confidence from the game against Dortmund into the game.

“I think first half we were good. I think actually, we were very good, dominating the game. (We were) on top of the game, scoring and creating all the chances.

“We could have gone 2-0 up and if not out of sight, then we’re definitely in a very good way to try to win a football match. Then we concede a chance. We give nothing away in the first half except a goal at the end of the first half. You can never, ever, ever concede that goal, because it just changed a little bit of momentum going into half-time.”

Since that result, several rumours have arrived about the manager’s immediate future, with Barcelona legend Xavi Hernandez mentioned as a potential replacement. Alas, as things stand, Spurs’ main focus seems to be set on reinforcements.

Tottenham eyeing £43m move to sign Vitor Roque

According to reports in Brazil, as relayed by Sport Witness, Tottenham are now eyeing a move to sign Vitor Roque from Palmeiras this summer. The former Barcelona forward, still just 20 years old, is priced at €50m (£43m), but that is seemingly yet to deter those in North London.

The Lilywhites are also not the only side interested, as per report. Alongside them, Manchester United and Chelsea have also set their sights on the South American, who was previously at Barcelona.

Reflecting on his time in Spain at the end of last year, the Brazilian admitted that it was a dream come true even if things didn’t work out. He said: “It wasn’t about money, no. I have between 10 and 15 years left in my career, God willing.

“It’s not the time to think about that. But of course, when I left, I had a career plan for myself. Every athlete dreams of playing for a club like Barcelona, one of the best clubs in the world. It’s a dream.”

Now, he could get the chance to prove Barcelona wrong, courtesy of the Premier League and potentially Tottenham.
